On October 18th, 2017, the biennial 24th World Bus Europe Expo opened in the Belgian town of Cote Letra. This year's Bus Show is Busworld's last event in Cottelett, and the 2019 show will be moved to Brussels, the capital of Belgium. A total of 376 passenger cars from 36 countries participated in the exhibition. The number of visitors reached 37,241, from 118 different countries around the world.
According to statistics, a total of 34 press conferences were held in this year's show. Each exhibitor introduced the latest bus products to visitors. In addition, more than 300 media from 42 countries around the world have reported on this exhibition in all aspects.
In addition to the exhibition hall, buses of different sizes are specially parked outside the exhibition hall for visitors to visit and test drive.
During the exhibition, a series of activities, including the International Road Transport Federation-Busworld International Bus Conference, the Indian Bus Product Promotion Conference, and the Hungarian VIP customer event were also successfully held. Tickets for the International Public Transport Federation-Busworld International Bus Conference are sold out at this year's show.
On October 19th, at the opening ceremony of the 24th Busworld European Bus, Mr. Peter Hinssen delivered a keynote speech entitled “The Future of Passenger Cars”, which left a deep impression on people.
At the Busworld Awards, three different judging panels announced their best models. The VDL Citea SIfa electric bus won the "2018 Sustainable Urban Bus" award and the Iveco Crossway LE natural gas bus won the "2018 Sustainable Intercity Bus" award. The Setra S516 HD/2 won the "2018 Sustainable Road Transport Bus" award. The "2018 Bus" award was won by Irizar i8.
