Don't over the sky How to avoid emergency driving in winter driving?

Sep 07, 2018

In the daily driving in winter, it is inevitable to encounter some emergencies and emergencies, how to save the risk or minimize the loss? The driver's instant judgment and operation determine the fate of a person or even a car. Correct judgment and operation require calmness, experience and knowledge. The degree of calm varies from person to person. Experience is not for everyone, but knowledge can accumulate over time.

Vehicle side slip

Critical situation: On the rain and snow road, it is easy to have side slip phenomenon, so that the direction of travel is inconsistent with the direction of the front.

Correct handling: If excessive braking causes side slip, the brake pedal should be released, and the reverse direction should be reversed to restore the driving force to the driving wheel. If the vehicle speed is high and the steering is caused by the steering, the throttle should be released to reduce the speed. At the same time, according to the speed of the vehicle and the state of the side slip, the direction of the side where the side slip occurs is lightly tapped. Driving on rain and snow, try to use low gear and high speed, use engine brakes and brake carefully.

Don't avoid: brake hard.

Brake failure

Critical situation: During the winter snow and ice road driving, the vehicle does not decelerate, or the brake pedal cannot be stepped on.

Correct handling: If the brake pedal is not responding, it may be that the brake oil leaks or the brake link is broken. At this time, you should look straight ahead and keep control of the direction of the vehicle to avoid obstacles. At the same time, use the engine system to hang the low gear. Move and use the handbrake reasonably. If the brake pedal does not step on, it may be because there is a foreign object under the pedal. At this time, the brake pedal should be quickly released, kick the foreign object under the pedal with the foot, and then brake the brake again.

Avoid: panic.

Front windshield rupture

Critical situation: Windy winds in winter, large winds, flying stones or debris from the front of the vehicle will crack the windshield, causing blurred vision.

Correct handling: gradually reduce the speed of the car, maintain the original driving direction, turn on the double flashing warning light, and drive the vehicle to the emergency parking zone according to the road conditions. Suddenly changing the direction of travel in the case of blurred vision is very easy for you to find "North", which is very dangerous.

Don't avoid: rushing direction.

Water tank

Critical situation: The water in the tank is boiling.

Correct handling: If the vehicle is running at low speed when the boiler is opened, immediately stop and stop the flame, and open the engine compartment cover to facilitate heat dissipation; if the engine is running at high speed when the boiler is opened, do not immediately turn off the fire after stopping, let the engine idle for a period of time, Open the engine compartment cover. In order to further facilitate heat dissipation, the warm air can be opened to the maximum. After the water temperature drops, unscrew the water tank cover (beware of burns).

Don't worry: open the tank lid in a hurry.

Other emergencies:

Puncture

According to statistics, 70% of highway traffic accidents in China are caused by punctures. “A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step”, which is essential for the maintenance of tires.

Critical situation: There are two types of punctures under normal conditions, namely front tire puncture and rear tire puncture. The front tire puncture is especially dangerous. The so-called "horse lost front hoof", the vehicle will tilt and turn in the direction of the puncture moment. The rear tire burst is relatively simple, the body is tilted but the direction does not change abruptly, but in the extreme case there may be a tail.

Correct handling: hold the steering wheel with both hands, try to keep the original driving route, close the throttle, open the double flashing warning light, and wait until the speed drops to the controllable range (50km/h or less). Drive the vehicle to the emergency parking zone according to the road condition, and slowly step on it. Brake the parking and place the warning triangle at 150m behind the car.

Do not avoid: brake, rush direction.

Self-ignition

Critical situation: Suddenly smelling the smell of the wire or the smell of the exhaust gas, and even seeing the smoke around the engine compartment cover.

Correct handling: Stop the fire at the first time, and evacuate the people in the car as soon as possible. Take the fire extinguisher and observe the situation at a certain distance from the vehicle. Do not open the engine compartment cover for inspection. Confirm that there is no open fire and then carefully open the engine compartment cover. After identifying the cause, choose to open to the maintenance point or wait for rescue.

Do not open the engine compartment cover immediately.
