How to choose different parts?
Skeleton material: Aluminum alloy (such as 6061-T6) or 316 stainless steel are preferred. Aluminum alloy is lightweight and resistant to salt spray corrosion, while stainless steel has higher strength but is heavier. Ordinary carbon steel is prone to rusting at sea and is not recommended for long-term exposed seats.
Seat cushion and backrest: High rebound PU foam or flame-retardant sponge is mainstream, with good rebound, low deformation, and can pass IMO fire test standards. Ordinary sponges are prone to mold and harden in humid marine environments.
Fabric: UV resistant marine grade vinyl (PVC) or polyurethane coated Oxford cloth is the most practical, waterproof, sun resistant, and easy to clean. Genuine leather or ordinary fabric is prone to moisture, mold, and salt spray erosion on board, and is not recommended.
Base and adjusting parts: anodized aluminum alloy or 304/316 stainless steel, and small parts such as screws and locks should also be made of stainless steel as much as possible, avoiding galvanized parts, otherwise they will rust quickly.
